ARTHROGRYPOSIS

  • Multiple congenital contractures or ankylosis involving two or more areas
  • Lack of fetal motion, persistent fetal posture
  • Cross legged (tailor’s position), flexed wrists/clenched hands(waiter’s tip)
  • Lack of facial movement, open mouth (whistling face)
  • Polyhydramnios due to decreased fetal swallowing
  • Short umbilical cord due to decreased fetal motion
  • Can have associated CNS anomalies:Lissencephaly, hydrocephalus,spine anomalies
